But now I'm back to update you on the our summer so far. Oh and can I just put it out there that I'm SUPER stoked to say that it looks like the Ex is single again?? YAY!! Dex couldn't stand her in the end...and well I never could so this is good news all around!
So where do I begin? Alright..with my brother and his visit...which was A W E S O M E!! He was here on a Dr's conference (of course...Dr. St. Aubin...remember?) which made it VERY convenient for him to come visit US!! Loved EVERY minute! We went to the fireworks, the movies, Granville Island,to the Aquarium and to Playland. Joel had access to the beach whenever he wanted which shocked him. I told him I was like 2 minutes away, and now he knows the truth of it.
He came on a Saturday. I was so excited to see him and was waiting anxiously at work for him to arrive. He popped by and boy howdy was I in pumped mode!! Work couldn't end soon enough...of course which it didn't. And then we waited for Declan to arrive which also was very exciting! We prepped for the fireworks that night (which was so fortunate for us to be happening the exact week he visited!). We were SUPER early, but I wanted good seats and we had them and we even saw SEALS!! The fireworks were amazing and fun we had a great time. It was China's night and thankfully they put on GREAT show!!
Sunday was a write off as it was the Pride Parade and Joel had a full day of lectures and talks and meet and greets. But he came home for dinner and things went well.
Tuesday we went to Cheap Movie Night and saw Captain America. I loved that movie. Seriously, they cast so well ( imho) and Chris Evans did such a great job at playing the "down-home Nice guy". Loved it.
Wednesday night, we rented some bikes and went for a ride through Stanley park. Declan rode on one of those attachements for kids that make them THINK they're biking, but really they aren't! Joel was a beast! He went up all the hills...me...I walked and needed my puffer. I know you're jealous. I'm just THAT hot!
Thursday was Joel's last day of the conference so it ended early. We went out to eat at White Spot and then we brought him to Granville Island. We took the ferry for a more fun experience. I showed him around the market and we headed to the Water Park. We chilled there for awhile and then we went to feed the birds.
Good times had by all. Joel was really impressed at how the birds ate right out of your hands!
Friday was our day at the Aquarium. Declan and Joel just had fun and laughed and just enjoyed themselves. I loved being there.
Saturday was our last big day of things to do. We went to Playland where Joel went on the 3 rides he was pumped to go on. The new "Atmosphere" ride where you go 75 feet in the air and just swing around and around. The "Hellevator" where you're shot straight up into the air and then dropped back down, and the "Old Wooden Rollercoaste r" which has been around for years. All 3 of us went mini golfing and totally bombed it. Declan scored like 200 over par and Joel and I tied at 61 over par each. Of course we told Declan he won. But Joel and I will meet on the greens once again to figure out who is the BEST!

Joel left on August 8th and 10 days later, Dex and I were on a plane to AB!
We had SO much fun on our voyage there. We got experience a LOT of firsts! Riding on one of those golf cart things in the airport, and walking across the hangar to get to our plane.
AB was BEAUTIFUL! The weather was fantastic, my family AMAZING!! I love them ALL so much and I felt so at home!
Our trip back though was FILLED with chaos. Our flight from Lethbridge got cancelled, we had to drive 3 hours to Calgary to get to the airport only to find out they changed my flight to the earlier one and we BARELY made on to our flight that we did manage to get on. BUT we made it home.
From there it's been filled with playdates, laughter and school prep. I know that this has been a long post, but I thought ya'll might like to know what we've been up to!
